|ALAN J. BEARD
Mr. Beard is a Managing Director of Interlink Capital Strategies (www.i-caps.com), a Washington DC based consulting firm specializing in emerging market finance and business development. Interlink's expertise is project and trade financing, raising private equity, business development and marketing for business transactions with a focus on emerging markets. Mr. Beard has successfully arranged billions of dollars of financing and used government advocacy and strategic industry relations to structure transactions world wide. Clients include large corporations, as well as numerous small to medium sized enterprises. Previously he was a Senior VP in charge of merchant banking at Banc One (now JP Morgan Chase), the COO of a consulting firm focused on arranging government money for its clients overseas business transactions, and an officer at both the Export-Import Bank and the International Trade Administration.
He has been a frequent speaker, university lecturer and published writer on international business and finance issues. Currently he is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. He has edited, co-authored and contributed to the writing of more than 25 books, including most recently TERRORISM & PERSONAL SECURITY, TRADE FINANCE GUIDEBOOK, INSIDE THE WORLD'S EXPORT CREDIT AGENCIES and INSIDE THE WORLD'S DEVELOPMENT FINANCE INSTITUTIONS, published by Thomson Publishing.
Mr. Beard graduated from the University of Utah cum laude and received his MBA from the George Washington University. He has lived and worked extensively in Latin America and Europe.
